An inclusive York group are aiming to connect local businesses and community together through football.
YRK Football Group are set to launch their YRK Member Card in early 2026 – a community-based initiative designed to connect local people and businesses through football.
The football group are passionate about making football accessible for everyone, and offer casual, recreational and league football games for players to participate in.
The card will offer exclusive discounts for their members at partner venues, helping local traders attract more footfall and visibility through their growing football network.
Local businesses The Block, The Cheese Trader and Days Café are already on board as early partners.
“We’re now looking to connect with more York-based businesses who’d like to benefit from being part of a thriving local football community,” said Nathan Kilcoyne, chairman and founder of YRK Football.
The launch of the member card is part of the group’s wider effort to strengthen community ties through football. Alongside the YRK card, they will also be launching a York Mind charity shirt, to help support mental health awareness locally.
“Our long-term goal is to have mens’, youth, and ladies’ competitive teams running on both Saturdays and Sundays, as well as midweek recreational sessions open to all ages and abilities,” said Nathan.
“YRK Football has grown rapidly over the last two years, and we’re passionate about using that platform to help York businesses grow with us.”
