A long police cordon is in place next to a famous York landmark today (Wednesday).
Crime tape stretches along Bar Lane, from its junction near Micklegate Bar to George Stephenson House, the Network Rail building.
Earlier a stretch of the Bar Walls were also sealed off but this has now reopened.
Cordon location
There’s a police guard at both ends of the cordon.
A stretch of the pavement is out of bounds, but the road is unaffected and traffic can still get through.
