Lidl opened at Monks Cross yesterday (Thursday). The purpose-built store is next to Sainsbury’s, on the former home of TK Maxx.
The third branch to open in York, it is the biggest yet, surpassing both the Thanet Road and James Street branches.

Lidl Monks Cross opened at 8am and includes an in-store bakery and the well-known Middle Of Lidl aisle, “for household kit that you never knew you needed”.
The opening has created around 40 jobs.
It opens from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am tp 4pm on Sundays.
