Vehicles burst into flames after crash in North Yorkshire village

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash on a village road last night (Thursday).

It happened on Lumby Lane, Monk Fryston at 5.27pm.

Both vehicles then caught fire.

Fire crews from Selby, Tadcaster and an appliance from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service went to the incident.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “All occupants were out on arrival and crews extinguished the fires using two hose reel jets, foam and two breathing apparatus.

“The temperature of one of the vehicles, which was a hybrid, was monitored using a thermal imaging camera. One of the occupants was left in the care of the ambulance service.”
