Firefighters were called out after a stray firework set a York garden alight.
They went to the incident on Mulberry Court, Huntington, at 6.15pm last night (Friday).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York responded to reports of a rogue firework that landed in a garden hedge and ignited.

“On arrival of crews the fire had already been extinguished by the occupier. Crews checked over using a thermal imaging camera and gave advice.”
