Firefighters from York and Knaresborough and the swift water crew from Ripon and Malton were called to Skip Bridge, on the A59 between York and Harrogate, this morning.
They came to the aid of one person who was in the River Nidd.
They had fallen in whilst fishing after the river bank gave way.
Crews used a triple extension ladder and crew power to rescue the person, who was uninjured, they were left in the care of the ambulance for precautionary checks.
