A large rescue operation was mounted after a man was stranded on the river bank in Malton.
Police called in fire crews at 3.31pm to Norton Road next to the River Derwent.
A man had fallen down the river bank, necessitating a difficult rescue.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Malton and Scarborough used a triple extension ladder alongside the aerial ladder platform to get him out safely.
“He was left in the care of paramedics.”
