Firefighters were called to an incident at the York Designer Outlet this morning (Saturday).
Crews from York and Acomb responded to a report of a fire at the rear of one of the stores at 4.50am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crew confirmed this was a fire to an electrical box in the unit.
“The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault. Crews extinguished the fire using a CO2 extinguisher and a dry powder extinguisher and then ventilated the unit.
“Fire damage caused to the electrical box and the storeroom was smoke logged.”
