Tributes paid to loving father who died after crash east of York

A father of two has died after a crash on Boxing Day.

YorkMix reported on Saturday that emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A166 York Road, Wetwang, between York and Driffield, near the junction with the B1248.

It happened about 1.30pm on 26 December.

A silver Kia Rio was involved in a collision with a red Honda motorbike. The rider of the bike was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Today police said he died yesterday afternoon and has been named by his family as 51-year-old Douglas Noble.

Paying tribute to Douglas, his family said: “Douglas was a loving son, a father of two and a friend to many.

“We take solace in the fact that Douglas had spent an afternoon doing what he loved, out riding his bike with his friends.

“He will be missed dearly by his entire family and we ask for privacy while we come to terms with our loss.”

His family are being supported by specially trained officers at this difficult time.
