Anthony Williams, who is 32, from Peterborough, has been charged with 10 counts of attempted murder following the knife attack on the LNER train travelling to London.
There is an additional count of attempted murder in relation to a separate incident on London’s Docklands Railway network in the early hours of Saturday.
He is also charged with one count of possession of a bladed article and one count of actual bodily harm.
After appearing at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court, he’s been remanded in custody. The next court date is December 1st.
Another man, a 35-year-old, who was also arrested at the time has been released. Police have confirmed that he was not involved.
A member of the LNER train crew has been hailed as a hero for protecting passengers on Saturday night. He is in a critical but stable condition, the transport secretary told the BBC News.
Five of the eleven people who were injured in the attack are still in hospital.
There is increased police presence around major stations to reassure the public. Officer have said they are not considering the incident to be terror-related.
