A group of youths were seen starting a fire in York this morning (Tuesday).
Firefighters were called to the incident in Acomb at 12.56am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb responded to a report of youths setting a fire deliberately in the area.
“Youths seen taking wood and cardboard into field and trying to light it.
“They then fled the area when challenged by a member of public. Details passed to police.”
