A takeaway delivery driver gave chase after a man stole his car keys and drove off – only to be assaulted.
It happened at around 3.30am on Boxing Day (Friday).
The suspect grabbed the car keys from the driver on Peter Hill Court before getting into the parked car and driving off.

The delivery driver gave chase and managed to get into the back of the car which came to a halt on St Philip’s Grove.
He was assaulted by the suspect who then walked off towards Burdyke Avenue.
The driver did not require any medical attention.
The suspect is described as
- white
- late teens or early 20s
- and wearing a dark coloured jacket and a hoodie.
Police want anyone with information or footage to get in touch.
They also want trace a potential key witness – a woman who interrupted the assault when she looked out of a bedroom window.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “If this is you or you know who it could be, please get in touch without delay.”
