York restaurant reveals more details about its £750K refurb

A York restaurant reveals more details about its £750,000 refurbishment.

We reported earlier this month that The Cut & Craft steakhouse on St Sampson’s Square was set to close for three weeks for a £750,000 refurbishment – and now, more details have been revealed as to what visitors can expect for the reopening.

The Cut & Craft York will reopen on Friday 13 February at 11am – just in time for Valentine’s weekend.

The venue is undergoing interior changes that will transform the space to exude ‘luxury and glamour’, with new furnishings, decor, bespoke wallpapers and design.

Another major change is the ladies restrooms, which in the new look will feature a pink palette with hand-painted monuments of York are presented in a feminine mural, playing on the concept of ‘Roots to Royalty’. Rosso marble vanity units with brass embellishments and front lit mirrors will make for the perfect photo lighting.

The central bar will remains, with an added blue-leather bar front. New soft furnishings and ambient lighting enhancements will compliment the space, where guests can sit and enjoy the likes of York’s signature cocktail, ‘The Beginning’ mixed with York Gin Roman Fruit, Apple, Mint, Elderflower & Honey, celebrating the city where The Cut & Craft began.

Returning visitors can expect to find their high-quality steaks, signature fish dishes and specials still on the menu.

Oscar Akgul, CEO at The Cut & Craft said: “We are thrilled to be elevating our York dining experience. To us, it’s more than a refurbishment, it is a really special moment which truly marks the success of the brand and our future. York is where The Cut & Craft began, and where we call home, so to be investing back into the City, is a huge honour.

“We want to thank our regular guests and everyone who has joined us at The Cut & Craft York since opening in 2018. You can expect everything you know and love about The Cut & Craft, slightly elevated with additional sparkle. We really hope you all love the changes.”
