Popular York restaurant to close for three weeks to create ‘new look’

A York restaurant is to close later this month for a refit.

The Cut & Craft steakhouse on St Sampson’s Square will close on 25 January.

In a post on social media the restaurant said: “York, we’ve been quietly working on something new for you.

“A little love. A fresh chapter. A new look.

“We’ll be closing from 5pm on Sunday 25th January, reopening on 13th February just in time for Valentine’s Day.”

It comes as the group, which includes Cut & Craft venues in Leeds and Manchester as well as the Lucia Italian restaurant in Swinegate, York has reported a strong festive period.

Owned by Oscar Akgul and Osman Dogan, the business is looking to open new branches in Leeds and Liverpool.

The York refurbishment will give the St Sampson’s Square Cut & Craft a completely new look. The group says “York has given us so much” that they want to give something back.
