York residents rescued after being trapped in their home by bike lock

Firefighters were called in to help residents trapped in their own home last night.

A crew went to the incident on George Cayley Drive at 10.33pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb attended a residential premises where persons were locked inside due to a bike lock being put across the front door.

“Bolt cutters were used to break the lock.”
