There’s been a police incident at the York community stadium this afternoon.
Witnesses have seen a lot of police at the Vangarde Shopping Park, particularly around the LNER Community Stadium and Hollywood Bowl ten pin bowling attraction.
Fans at the stadium for the York Knights game were held in place after the final whistle for their own safety.

They have now been allowed to leave and the stadium is empty and locked.
At 645pm, police were still in numbers at the stadium. Three vans were parked next to the car park opposite Vallado Lounge.
Another is close to the main leisure centre entrance.
Police have been seen inside the leisure centre and outside the East Stand, but were unable to say anything about the nature of the operation.
We spoke to three York Knights fans who had been at the match, which saw the home team lose 22-24 to Huddersfield Giants.
They told YorkMix: “The gates were closed and we weren’t allowed out. They said ‘after the game, can you please all keep seated. There’s an incident outside the ground, so we can’t let you out’.”
The crowd were kept in the stadium for about 20 minutes after the game was over.
When they came out, they saw about six police vans.
One of the group said: “We asked them what’s going on there? They said, we can’t tell you.”
Another Knights fan joked: “We were hoping it was for York to have extra time, so we could win eventually.”
We have contacted North Yorkshire Police but haven’t yet heard back.
