Updated: Three arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after stabbing in York

Three people have been arrested after a man was stabbed at a property in Huntington Road in York.

Police were called to a disturbance at around 11pm last night (Sunday 5 October).

A man in his 30s was found with serious abdominal injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Two men aged 55 and 51, and a woman aged 34, were all arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in police custody at this time.

“Officers believe all parties involved are known to each other and that the wider community were not at risk.”

Police remain at the property this morning as officers carry out work to examine the scene of the incident.

Huntington Road was closed near the roundabout Monkgate / Heworth Green / Foss Bank. It reopened at 11.30am.

Earlier officers were posted at both ends of the cordon, between Park Crescent and Lowther Street.

Pedestrians were still be allowed through but cars and bikes were being diverted.

The cordon was up for nearly 12 hours.
