One of York’s petrol stations has reopened after an upgrade.
BP Poppleton, on the A59 / A1237 roundabout, was closed for several weeks for the refurbishment.
It’s been operating for a decade. And to celebrate the latest milestone, the site was reopened by its very first customer, Jim Reid.
Wendy Brown, a BP employee who has been there all ten 10 years, presented him with a gift welcoming him back to the store.
The new-look includes self-checkout stations, a refreshed wildbean cafe self-serve coffee and food area, as well as an extended M&S Food range.

The site also features a new floral and gift zone.
Store manager Nick Watkinson, said: “Our team can’t wait to welcome customers back to the new Poppleton store.
“The store feels brighter and more modern, with freshly baked M&S food, a new gifting zone, and great convenience options, we think our regulars and new visitors alike are going to love the new store.”
