Police have thanked the public after a missing man was found within hours of an appeal to locate him.
The 57 year old was reported missing from the Avon and Somerset area last month.
Enquiries suggested he was now in York, possibly near the racecourse.
A few hours after sharing the appeal, North Yorkshire Police issued this update: “Earlier tonight we posted an appeal for information about a missing 57-year-old man in York.
“As a direct result of the appeal, and the public response to it, we have been able to find him safe.
“Many thanks to everyone who shared the post or contacted us – it really does make a difference.”
