A brand new bookshop and cafe has opened in York.
Books and Bevs is now trading at 89 Front Street in Acomb, York, in what was previously home to the Cottage Salon hairdressers.
We reported that the new venture was set to launch soon, and the doors opened from 10am on Friday to welcome in book lovers one and all.

Books and Bevs is founded and run by husband-and-wife team Joe and Allie Long. Both have had years of experience in the hospitality industry, and now their dream of opening an independent bookshop has become a reality.
The bookshop will offer a wide selection of new and pre-loved fiction, non-fiction, history, graphic novels, and poetry books – as well as a specially curated children’s section and comfy seating areas.
The cafe offers hot and cold drinks, as well as tasty bakes for sitting in or taking away.
Books & Bevs joins the latest bookshops to open in York, including the new Waterstones location at Monks Cross Shopping Park, and the upcoming Toppings, which is due to open in the city centre in 2026.
The Acomb shop will run concurrently alongside its pop-up location inside The Speakcheesey on Walmgate.
