A rescue operation swung into operation last night to help people trapped at a North Yorkshire beauty spot.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at Hackfall Wood, Masham, at 10.18pm.
Three young people reported being stuck on steep terrain during a walk.

They were unable to safely find the route back to the main path due to the darkness.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service control located their position using the What3Words app.
They advised the group to only use one phone torch whilst awaiting the arrival of the Bedale crew to conserve the battery of another phone to retain contact with them.
A fire service spokesperson said: “The Bedale crew were able to gain access to the bottom of the steep terrain to make verbal contact with all three youths who reassured them that Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team had been requested and were en route to assist them back to a safe location using their rope rescue equipment.
“After mountain rescue had performed a rescue, all young persons were walked back to their vehicle. No injuries were sustained during this incident.”
Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team reported: “Called later last night by the police to rescue three walkers stuck on steep ground in Hackfall Woods.
“The fire service had attended but were unable to recover the three walkers so called us.
“A quick rope system was set up and all recovered quickly. It’s a very steep and wooded area if you lose the path.”
