York is set to get two new openings soon.
The city centre will soon be getting two new additions – a tailoring shop and new Persian-inspired cafe.
Smartfit Alterations at 3 Low Ousegate and Cafe Shiraz at 20 Low Ousegate are coming soon.

YorkMix understands that Smartfit Alterations will be a tailor shop for garments like suits, jackets and trousers.
The Georgian Grade II listed building at 3 Low Ousegate was previously home to the Notting Hill Jacket shop, which stocked reversible patterned quilted jackets and run by brothers Ehsanullah and Nangialai Takanai.
However, it was closed and emptied back in March – but now it’s getting a new lease of life.
It’s not the only new addition for Low Ousegate that’s coming soon, as the Kabul & Istanbul Restaurant is set to open next door too, serving up “chicken doner, lamb doner, lamb chops, ribs, chicken wings”.

Another new foodie destination coming soon to York is Cafe Shiraz at 20 Castlegate – with the sign in the window advertises that it will offer a ‘taste of Persia’.
The York-based firm of Chartered Surveyors and property consultants Barry Crux & Company previously resided at 20 Castlegate, with their York office now at Queens House on Micklegate.
Cafe Shiraz will be a welcome new eatery venue to the street, after the recent closure of Parings Wine Bar at 28 Castlegate in January this year and the upcoming closure of fried chicken restaurant Clucking Oinks at the end of next month.
More details about both new openings to come.
