A cyclist was slashed with a knife in York city centre last night (Thursday).
The victim was attacked with a carpentry-type knife on Museum Street at 8.08pm.
He suffered wounds to his face, head and hand.

As YorkMix reported, there was a significant police response.
A 37-year-old man was arrested less than ten minutes later, at 8.17pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The suspect was arrested by taser-trained officers due to the nature of the incident. They did not need to fire the taser and the knife was recovered.”
Museum Gardens, the slip road down to the River Ouse and Dame Judi Dench Walk, and a section of Museum Street pavement were taped off.
That was to allow officers to conduct an investigation, including a forensic examination of the scene.
The suspect remains in police custody for questioning in relation to an offence of Section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The victim, a man aged in his early 50s from the Leeds area, was discharged from hospital on Friday morning after receiving treatment for his injuries.
Police are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward to assist the investigation.
