New restaurant to open in York after move from London

A new restaurant is set to open in York soon, after the owners moved here from London.

The Kabul & Istanbul Restaurant is coming to Low Ousegate, in the building last occupied by York Souvenirs.

A large kitchen is now being installed, and it will have enough room for 140 diners.

The family have been working on the York move for more than six months.

Ahmed Dudin from the restaurant told YorkMix it will serve food cooked on their charcoal grill.

“Before, we have a restaurant in London. But we came here because we want to do what we did in London in York as well.

“Everything is fresh and made daily – chicken doner, lamb doner, lamb chops, ribs, chicken wings. Everything is cooked on the charcoal grill.”

There will also be a selection of Turkish salads, he said.

The business can also undertake outside catering for events and parties.

And they are hiring – email [email protected] or drop your CV in at the shop if you’re interested.
