Police have been called in following a large fire last night (Thursday).
Huntington firefighters were called out at 9.48pm to the fire in the open off Ryecroft, Strensall.
That’s close to Strensall Camp and the River Foss.
Incident location
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival 100 squared metres of grass was well alight.
“Crews used two hose reel jets to extinguish. The cause was believed to have been deliberate and the Police were notified.”
