Train company TransPennine Express is looking for up to 53 new conductors to join its network across the North of England.
Eight would be based in York, with another five in Scarborough.
There are also roles available in Cleethorpes, Sheffield, Preston, Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Airport, Liverpool, Newcastle and Hull.
The train operator is actively encouraging people with no rail industry experience to apply.
New recruits will have to pass rigorous interview tests focusing on concentration and customer service. They would then undertake around three months training to become a qualified conductor.
The operator is offering a salary of £27,877 per annum which increases to £36,411 per annum once qualified as well as other benefits including free and discounted rail travel.
