Pub in York suburb plans to open outdoor bar

An Acomb pub has lodged an application for an outside bar.

The Inn on The Green has submitted an application to alter its premises licence to include its external area which would be served by the new bar.

Pub operator Daniel Thwaites PLC stated the playing of music and serving drinks after 11pm would only take place inside the pub.

The application to change the licence for the pub, in The Green, stated it would not affect the pub’s opening hours or when alcoholic drinks are served.

The Inn on The Green opens from 11am to midnight seven days a week, according to its website.

Food is served from 11am to 3pm and from 5pm to 8pm from Monday to Friday.

It is also available from 11am to 8pm on Saturday and from 12pm to 5pm on Sundays when roast dinners are on the menu.

The Inn on The Green’s website stated it offers a place to relax and enjoy homemade, classic pub meals, a well-poured pint and welcoming atmosphere.

It added it was perfect for families and pets alike and is a 10-minute drive from the centre of York and close to Acomb walking routes.

People can send comments on the pub’s application to York Council until Friday, 16 January.
