A popular brunch stop in York has announced the opening date for its second city centre location – and it’s coming very soon!
We reported earlier this month that Rise York was expanding in the city with a second venue on Museum Street.
Rise have revealed on social media that ‘mini rise’ will be opening its doors on Friday 3 July.
This will mark the brunch brand’s fifth location. It’s first venue in York, which opened four years ago on Fossgate, has been a huge success, with queues regularly out the door.
The second venue at 11 Museum Street was previously home to the hot chocolate emporium Cocoa Joe’s, which was opened by University of York graduate Joe Andrew in 2021. It closed last year, “due to many circumstances beyond our control”.
When revealing the opening date on social media, Rise also teased how the new venue will look.

The decor looks like it will be in-keeping with Rise’s house style of warm exteriors, clean wood, and pastel pinks and blues.
Rise serves all day coffee and brunch, with menu highlights including Acai bowls, Eggs Benedict, Steak and Eggs, Sticky Toffee French Toast, Cookie Butter Iced Latte, and Banana Bread Matcha.
The Fossgate café is listed as number two in the TripAdvisor best York brunch spots, and has a 4.9/5 rating.
With the opening only a week away, stay up to date at Rise’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
