Police have alerted York residents that they will be carrying out a training exercise this evening (Thursday, 30 January).
In a post on social media, North Yorkshire Police said: “Please don’t be alarmed if you hear a lot of noise in the Fulford/Bishopthorpe/A19 area of York tonight.
“It is just a training exercise taking place in the area between 7.30pm and midnight.
“There should be no disruption to members of the public other than the potential for some noise.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
