Police deal with trouble in York street – one person sent to court

Police have been targeting troublemakers in a York street today (Sunday).

They were out in force in Walmgate in response to calls about anti-social behaviour.

One person has been summonsed to court for an offence.

Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Toby Gorwood said: “We have been out all morning in Walmgate in response to problems yesterday afternoon and the wider city centre and prevented a number of issues from developing this morning into offences.

“We have also reported one individual for summons for urinating in a public place.”
