A police incident closed a York city centre street last night (Monday).
Piccadilly was cordoned off between around 9pm and 10pm.
It was shut between Mill Street and Merchantgate due to the concerns for the welfare of a man.
Incident location
Police asked people to avoid the area, and buses had to be diverted from the route.
Team Arriva Selby wrote: “Could we please advise any passengers wanting to travel on the 415 Service for York this evening that due to a incident outside the Hilton Hotel in Piccadilly we will be diverting and unable to serve Clifford Street.
“We will be departing Stand PA opposite Primark, ie the 25 service stand. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.”
At 10pm, North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The man has been brought to safety and we are arranging the support he needs.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
