Police called to incident on York bridge

Police and York Rescue Boat volunteers were called to an incident at a bridge in the city.

It happened last night (New Year’s Day).

York Rescue Boat posted: “Call out from North Yorkshire Police to a report of a person wrong side of Ouse Bridge.

“Crew mobilised and stood down on scene as casualty was brought back to safety.”

It was the rescue boat’s third call out of the day – and the year.
