A man has died in a plane crash in North Yorkshire today (Sunday).
Police were called to reports of a crash involving a light aircraft at Sherburn Aero Club near Sherburn in Elmet just after 1pm.
It was reported that the accident happened as the small plane landed on the runway.

A man in his 70s from the Leeds area, who is believed have been the sole occupant, died at the scene
His family is being supported by officers.
Police are currently guarding the scene and the Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.
