More arrests after York stabbing – Police issue update

Police have made more arrests after the stabbing which has left a York man fighting for his life in hospital.

And they have charged one of those detained with three offences.

North Yorkshire Police issued an update following the incident at a flat on Trinity Lane on Thursday afternoon.

A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with stab wounds where he remains in a critical condition.

The road was closed to traffic for more than 24 hours as investigations continued.

Previously police said two men and three women, aged between 28 and 58, were arrested in connection with the incident.

In an update today (Monday), a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A total of five men and three women have been arrested in connection with this incident.

“One man has been charged with obstructing police, assaulting police and possessing a knife.

“Another man has been released with no further action.

“The remaining suspects have been bailed, with bail conditions in place, while our enquiries continue.”
