Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after an incident in Northallerton.
It happened on Sunday 21 June at about 10.30am when a woman aged in her 50s was walking her dog in the Applegarth area.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “She was involved in an incident with a male who is known to her.
“The male was verbally aggressive, threw his cycle helmet at the female and pushed his bike towards her.
“A male member of the public heard the shouting and came over to help the female and the suspect left the area.
“If you are the male that intervened during the incident we would like to speak to you.”
