Man may need surgery after being knocked out in York taxi rank attack

A man was knocked unconscious and needed an operation after an attack in York city centre.

It happened at 12.15am on Sunday 16 November at the St Saviourgate taxi rank.

Police are now trying to trace the person in this image, along with witnesses.

The victim was knocked unconscious and had his nose broken in several places. He may require surgery when his wounds have healed.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for information to help trace the man on the CCTV image in connection with the incident.

“Also, any further witnesses including the taxi driver that was parked at the taxi rank when the incident has happened. They or other passing motorists may have relevant dashcam footage.”
