A man has been jailed for a series of thefts from stores in York and for assaulting a member of shop staff.
Dougie Macrae was arrested on Christmas Day morning, charged with three counts of thefts from B&M and Waitrose on Foss Islands Road and the Co-Op in Tang Hall.
He also assaulted a member of staff at B&M.
At court on Boxing Day he was also dealt with for recently failing to appear in relation to two previous theft charges.
He received 13 weeks in prison in total.
