James May, the former star of Top Gear and The Grand Tour, has been spotted filming in Whitby this week.
Lisa Michelle Thompson took these photographs of the presenter in action.
Known throughout the world for his work on the BBC and Amazon Prime car shows with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, he was working on one of his solo projects in the North Yorkshire seaside town.

He was there yesterday (Monday) to film scenes for his upcoming Channel 5 series, The Great Explorers With James May.
According to the publicity blurb, in the series he will tell the stories of three of the world’s most famous and explorers – Christopher Columbus, Walter Raleigh and James Cook “in an entertaining and innovative way that only James can deliver.”

This photograph, by Delta Charlie Drones, shows the presenter with his film crew close to the Captain Cook memorial.
David from Delta Charlie Drones told YorkMix he stayed well away from the filming so the drone didn’t interfere with their work.
Wearing a duffle coat, the presenter was seen filming on the replica of the Endeavour ship.
He was also spotted doing pieces to camera on Grape Lane and Henrietta Street, and he later relaxed by watching football in the Little Angel pub.
