New Year fireworks led to a call out for the North Yorkshire fire service late last night (Tuesday, 31 December).
They were mobilised to a home in Acomb at 11.38pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb responded to a hedge on fire in the back garden of a property.
“This was caused by the misfiring of fireworks. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and advice was given.”
