Fire started deliberately in York park

Firefighters were called to a fire in a park in York today (Tuesday).

They got the call, to the park in Acomb, at 11.42am.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York responded to a smouldering fire in a public park which was believed to had been ignited deliberately.

“Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.”
