Firefighters mounted a rescue operation after a car was spotted in flood water in a Ryedale village.
Crews from Malton and York, alongside swift water crews from Malton, Whitby and Selby responded to the incident in Burythorpe near Maltonn at 2.53am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “It was unknown if any persons were inside.

“On arrival it was confirmed there were no persons in the vehicle and crew power was used to relocate the vehicle off the road.”
