A man was attacked by a gang of people in broad daylight on a York street.
The assault happened on Front Street in Acomb outside Betfred at about 5.30pm yesterday (Monday).
Witnesses described “a grown man on the floor in the middle of Acomb being kicked in the face and head by a large group of kids”.

Another said: “At Acomb shops outside the bookies a vulnerable man was set about by a gang of youths. It was awful, police and paramedics attended , it was a violent assault.”
A third described the attack as “horrendous”.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A male victim was attacked by a group of people, sustaining injuries which required hospital treatment.
“A 48-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident. She remains in police custody at this time.
“Officers are seeking further individuals involved. We’re particularly appealing for any witnesses, anyone with information, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.”
