‘He meant everything to us’: Family pay tribute to man who died in Thirsk Market Place

The family of a man who died in a crash in Thirsk have paid tribute to someone who “meant absolutely everything to us”.

Peter Hudson, 61, was a pedestrian in the Market Place when, just before  10.30pm on Sunday 7 June, he was in collision with a white Mercedes A Class car .

It happened outside the Nova Bar. He died at the scene despite the efforts of firefighters and paramedics.

Today Peter’s family released this tribute. “We are devastated by the loss of our amazing Pete.

“Totally irreplaceable, kind, loving and hilarious. He was adored by family and friends, and meant something to everyone, but absolutely everything to us.

“We will love him and miss him always.”

Last Thursday, North Yorkshire Police said the driver of the Mercedes, a 46-year-old man from Darlington, is assisting the police investigation.

The police are asking for witnesses, or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
