Driver breathalysed after car crashes twice in Scarborough

A driver has been arrested after a car crashed into a taxi and a fence in Scarborough.

The collisions happened on Woodlands Drive on Monday (23 September).

A Ford C Max was reported to be involved in a collision with a taxi. Then, after the exchange of details, it collided with a barrier.

The driver was breathalysed and was found to be nearly three and a half times the drink drive limit.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The driver was taken to hospital where an evidential sample of blood was taken.

“The vehicle was also recovered as it transpired that the driver didn’t have a valid driving licence.”
