Police have issued a description of a dog walker after a riverside altercation in York.
The male victim was walking his dog along a track beside River Ouse and near Clifton Cricket Club.
He was approached by an unknown man with a small black terrier dog off a leash.
The dog charged toward the victim’s pet but caused no injury.
The pet owner then threw a leash at the victim, striking him in the back. He subjected the victim to an unprovoked verbal abuse leaving him in fear of further violence.
The suspect is described as:
- white
- about 45-50 years old
- with shoulder-length, dark hair.
