A crew was called to reports of a late-night bonfire on a playing field in York.
They went to Fenby Field off Cornwall Drive at 11.54pm last night (Sunday).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “After inspection, two responsible people were found with a standing fire pit burning small amounts of wood.

“Advice was given to let the fire self extinguish after it was confirmed there was no risk of fire spread.”
