A man whose reckless driving had caused other road users to swerve out of the way then got out of his car on the motorway to threaten a motorist.
Police want to hear from witnesses who saw a white BMW estate on the A1 or M1 “driving at excess speed, undertaking, causing other motorists to take evasive action or sharp braking, and intimidating other road users”.
It happened on the A1(M) and M1 on the afternoon of Thursday 16 June.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “When the flow of traffic slowed down , the male driver of the white BMW exited his vehicle in a live lane between junction 42 and 41 M1 South and approached another vehicle on the carriageway and made threats of violence to the driver.
“We are keen to hear from persons that may have dashcam or mobile phone footage of the white BMW being driven on this date or the incident when the male alighted the BMW on the motorway.”
