A bird hide was set on fire in York last night (Wednesday).
Firefighters were called to Lakeside Way on the University of York campus in Heslington at 5.44pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from York and Acomb responded to a bird hide, measuring approximately 3m by 5m, which was well alight.

“Crews extinguished and dampened down using a hose reel jet. Cause believed deliberate.”
