A man has been arrested after an incident in Bridlington.
Police were called to reports of a theft from a shop on Chapel Street at around 2.15pm on Sunday.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of theft from a shop in Bridlington, and shortly after to reports of a man making threats to the public with a hammer.

“Officers swiftly attended and a man matching the caller’s description was located and arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop, possession of a weapon in a public place and affray.
“He remains in police custody assisting with enquiries at this time.”
