Alcohol could be served until 1am from York takeaway under new plans

Alcohol could be served until 1am from a York takeaway under new plans.

An application to licence Clifton’s Slice of Heaven pizza takeaway for alcohol sales with food has been lodged with City of York Council.

It would see the takeaway, in Burton Stone Lane, licensed for off-premises alcohol sales during its opening hours from 11am to 1am daily if it is approved.

The takeaway’s owners stated alcohol would only be available through its delivery service between 11pm and 1am.

The application from Taylan Ozer is open for public comments until Friday, 19 June.

It is the latest licensing application publicly listed by the council after it was submitted on Friday, May 22.

Other recent applications include an application to extend the sale of alcohol to midnight Sunday to Thursday and to 1am on Friday and Saturday at The Minster Inn.

A bid to licence a vacant café building in Gillygate to pave the way for a new restaurant has also been lodged.

An application to extend the licensed area in the Samuel Smith pub The Ebor is also among those recently submitted to the council.
